Indiana Bicentennial Celebration 2016

IBC Home > Statehouse Tree Planting Project Replanting Trees on the Statehouse Lawn

Ricker's Replenish Logo

In honor of Indiana's Bicentennial, Ricker's Convenience Stores will provide a grant as part of their Ricker's Replenish America initiative to restore and enhance the canopy tree population on the Indiana Statehouse grounds.

This initiative planted 30 trees, all native to Indiana, to replace trees lost to storm, age and disease and to plant successor trees to ensure the statehouse continues to have an ecologically meaningful and aesthetically pleasing tree canopy.

This project compliments the replanting of Bicentennial Plaza, where non-native and invasive species were removed and replaced with Indiana native trees. Together, these projects will provide a wonderful outdoor display of Indiana's native trees and a learning center for visitors to the Statehouse campus.
