  • NEW BOAH Office Location
    After December 13, 2011, the BOAH office will be located in Discovery Hall at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.  All phone numbers will remain the same after the move; however, the fax number and address will change.  The new conctact information is listed below.

  • Animal Care Standards for Livestock and Poultry
    The Indiana State Board of Animal Health introduced and voted on animal care standards for livestock and poultry at the last quarterly board meeting, which was held July 28, 2011.  The standards were passed by the board.  An electronic copy of the proposed rule and more information about the last quarterly board meeting is available on the Board Actions page.   

  • Piroplasmosis Testing Required for Some Hoosier Horses 
    Effective March 1, 2011, all thoroughbred horses and quarter horses must test negative for equine piroplasmosis before entering a premise where a horse race meet is being held.  This rule also applies to pony horses and other equids for exhibition purposes at Indiana track facilities only.  Currently, this rule does not apply to 4-H horses shown at fairs.  Visit the Piroplasmosis webpage to view a complete listing of the testing requirements.
