Following the growing trend of Hoosier consumers wanting more local foods, the Indiana State Board of Animal Health has created buyer's guides to highlight Indiana meat and poultry processors and dairy producers and processors. The Meat & Poultry Buyer's Guide includes a map so individuals can look for businesses in their area of the state. The Dairy Buyer's Guide showcases national brands which are made in Indiana, while also listing locally processed products as well.
- United States EHV-1 Updates
Numerous cases of equine herpes virus (EHV-1) have been occurring around the United States--no cases currently exist in Indiana. TheHorse.com has a tracker map that shows when and where the outbreaks have occurred, along with more detailed information from the affected states. Information about EHV-1 can be found on the American Association of Equine Practitioners website.
