THE INDIANA GOVERNOR'S COUNCIL FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

July 26 marks the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 — the world’s first comprehensive civil rights law for people with disabilities. Signed by former President George H. W. Bush, the ADA prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in a variety of areas, including employment, public services, public accommodations and telecommunications.

Plan to attend Indiana's ADA Celebration on Monday, July 26th (10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Eastern) at the Indianapolis Artsgarden! Click here for more information.

Submit Disability Awareness Evaluations

If you ordered March Disability Awareness Month materials from the Governor’s Council and used the items to conduct an activity or event, please remember to complete and return the Coordinator Evaluation form included in the kit. You can also complete and submit the form online at www.indianadisabilityawareness.org, or download a PDF of the form from the Web site to mail to the Council. Also, don’t forget to have the participants in your activity or event complete the Participant Evaluation forms, and send those back to the Council. Feedback collected on these forms helps the Council plan future campaigns.
