Originally created to care for veterans of the Civil War, the Indiana Veterans’ Home welcomed our first resident in 1896. Located on 250+ acres in West Lafayette, our campus has transformed over the years into a thriving community of independent living and comprehensive care for veterans and their spouses.

It is our privilege to serve veterans and their spouses by providing compassionate medical care, meaningful activities and tasty meals for our residents. We strive to build camaraderie among our residents, community and staff. Residents enjoy our library and media center, gardens, crafts and hobbies, chapel, beauty shop, transportation services and a busy schedule of recreation and activities.

Applicants must also pass a criminal background check conducted by the Indiana Veterans’ Home.
The Indiana Veterans’ Home accepts private payment, insurance, Medicare* and Medicaid. We are a Medicaid-certified facility and can assist our residents with Medicaid applications.
