The 28th annual La Porte County Symphony Orchestra Children’s Concert, “Indiana Stories” tells stories of Hoosier history through the presentation of live orchestral music and song. Beginning with native inhabitants, including the Pottawatomie and Shawnee tribes, Native American songs are presented. Following this there are stories of Eliza Harris, who escapes slavery via the Indiana Underground Railroad, the ghost legend of Diana of the Dunes, the music of Cole Porter, and a goose on the Wabash River named Gilligan who today is the official mascot of the Indiana Waterways.
