Legacy Projects > Indiana Bicentennial Poetry Event Indiana Bicentennial Poetry Event

“Poetry is the Language of Legacy”   Significant historical events are immortalized by excellent poetry.  Indiana Poets’ multi part celebration will kick off May 14 honoring 200 years of Indiana while honoring 75 years of Indiana State Federation of Poetry during the spring poetry convention at Fox Island in Fort Wayne.  Historic speakers from museums, poet educators from universities, and award-winning, published poets shall inspire writers.  Our final piece is at James Whitcomb Riley Boyhood Home, unveiling the Riley statue and presenting poetry gathered from all parts of this project, bringing their resulting literary art October 7 – 8 in Greenfield, Indiana.
