Legacy Projects > Vermillion County Historical Society Bicentennial Open House Vermillion County Historical Society Bicentennial Open House

The Vermillion County Historical Society Bicentennial Open House is a multi-faceted project. The first segment of the project entails the restoration of the windows of the Historic Vermillion County Jail that serves as the Historical Society’s headquarters. In combination with the window restoration, a grand Bicentennial Open House will also take place, revealing the newly restored windows and previous restoration of the jail. The open house will feature key historic figures who played roles in the establishment and development of Vermillion County and Indiana.

Members of the Historical Society, the North Vermillion High School Drama Department and local volunteers will wear period costumes during the open house, providing an interactive glimpse into the history of Vermillion County and Indiana. Cake and punch will be served to celebrate Indiana’s 200th birthday!
