Amber Alert - TEST

Legacy Projects > Tame the Terrain Tame the Terrain

Held annually in a beautiful and historic park, the Tame the Terrain race is managed by seasoned volunteers whose goal is to see the 80-year-old, former state park used for recreation for years to come and to encourage people aged 4-99 to get out and enjoy nature, test their mental and physical limits and enjoy wholesome activity with like-minded individuals. The four-mile race features natural obstacles such as hills, ravines and rock walls. The race is open and accessible to the public with a proven track record of more than 600 participants and more than 100 volunteers each year. The race is held in one of Indiana’s natural treasures, Muscatatuck County Park, which used to be Vinegar Mills State Park until it was returned to Jennings County by in 1956. Funds from the race are used to provide programming for the youth of Jennings County through the Nativity of Mary Catholic Church and two other catholic churches in the area.
