Legacy Projects > Mill Race Marathon and Health & Fitness Expo Mill Race Marathon and Health & Fitness Expo

Columbus is a unique community where all of its residents are committed to making it the best community it can be. Part of that commitment means furthering health and wellness across all ages and ethnic backgrounds. The Mill Race Marathon is one of the largest efforts Columbus is using to spread this message. The proceeds of the event support Healthy Communities and our Parks and Recreation Department. The Columbus community is engaged in numerous activities leading up to the event such as a poster and t-shirt design contest in local schools and a free training program open to anyone that wants to come.

Another unique element of our events is, two local bike shops donate new bicycles to be raffled off for participants of the 5k, and a local car dealership partners with Cummins to give away a brand new truck for the participants of the half and full marathon. We feel the Mill Race Marathon sets itself apart from other similar events because of the deep community involvement and our continued commitment to improving the lives of those in our community through promoting health and wellness.
