Covered Bridge Gateway Trails Association, Inc. (CBGTA) is declaring their 6thAnnual Bike the Bridges fundraiser on October 3, 2015 to be a Bicentennial event. CBGTA’s vision is to turn 27 miles of abandoned railroad bed into a linear park that will connect the National Road Heritage Trail in the south to the B&O Trail in the north making a 150-mile loop trail, the longest in the country. The event’s venue is the Beechwood Pavilion in Rockville where attendees can ride one or all four bike routes, view displays of Park County history and hear actors in period costume bring the 1800s and 1900s to life.
