Legacy Projects > A Day at Seven Pillars A Day at Seven Pillars

The Miami Nation of Indiana is the state’s only indigenous people, and has had a long-standing relationship with state leaders for over 100 years. Miami natives from all over Indiana will be on hand to demonstrate artwork, wigwam construction, flint napping, drumming, dancing, and more!

Visitors will be able to learn how to speak Miami words, or watch the Miami food demonstration with free samples! The Tribal Drum, singers, and dancers will perform during the day’s events, and Tribal dignitaries will be on hand to answer questions and share historic events and moments for the Miami Nation. Children, both young and old, can participate in a number of educational and fun-filled activities with members of the Miami Nation.
