Legacy Projects > Krider Garden History Krider Garden History

Krider World’s Fair Garden is on the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail and the Quilt Garden trail—popular tourist attractions in Elkhart County. Our project includes the publication of a guide to garden and its history. We also provide a walking map and brochure on the garden for visitors at our park kiosk, and videos on YouTube with stories about the garden. The garden has ties not only with the 1933-34 Chicago World's Fair but with the first variety of thornless rose which was produced and sold by Krider Nurseries, one of the first mail order nursery businesses in the U.S.
