Indiana Bicentennial Celebration 2016

Legacy Projects > River Road Gateway Project River Road Gateway Project

The River Road Gateway Project is revitalizing the North/South gateway into the heart of West Lafayette. This project includes a shared use path, decorative lighting, ADA improvements, tree and landscaping that is changing the feel of the road from a concrete corridor to a pleasant entrance to our city that can be enjoyed by both motorists and pedestrians. A roundabout allows for free flow traffic at the intersection of River Road and Tapawingo Drive. The shared use path allows for pedestrian connection to downtown West Lafayette, Tapawingo and Happy Hollow Park, and the Wabash Heritage Trail. This project has redefined the North/South entrance to West Lafayette for the Bicentennial.
