Indiana Bicentennial Celebration 2016

Legacy Projects > Voices from the Past Voices from the Past

As part of Indiana’s 200th birthday celebration, we are performing a cemetery reenactment of our pioneer cemetery, Capitol Hill Cemetery, located in the southeast portion of Cambridge City. Fourteen reenactors of various ages, in full costume, will portray citizens who are buried there, telling their stories gleaned from obituaries and early newspaper articles. The community is trying to restore and revitalize this lovely old cemetery that has not only townspeople, but also veterans from the War of 1812 and the Civil War.
