Indiana Bicentennial Celebration 2016

Legacy Projects > The Bicentennial History of Hendricks County, Indiana The Bicentennial History of Hendricks County, Indiana

This project is a 15-minute video that will summarize 200 years of the history of Hendricks County, Indiana. It will cover geography, towns, schools, significant events, commerce, roads, leaders and citizens, as well as the general evolution of the county itself. The project will be completed by October 2016. Pictures and interviews with county historians, such as John Parsons at the Historical Society, have been collected and are being compiled for the video. Script will be written by our group, based on various interviews and sources that have been collected.

  • Watching our volunteers take on such a large project and seeing it to completion.

How/where are you preserving information and artifacts related to your Legacy Project?

  • We are incorporating the video into our Leadership Hendricks County curriculum. We have distributed to school districts for use during their Indiana history lessons. We have it on Leadership Hendricks County YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdoLHw2pJQg
