Indiana Bicentennial Celebration 2016

Legacy Projects > Cartersburg, Then and Now Cartersburg, Then and Now

Book Publicity

The history of Cartersburg exemplifies many small communities in Central Indiana. Their heyday has passed, but the residents desire to preserve the history for future generations. The pictorial book Cartersburg Then and Now will be a compilation of town and county history gleaned from eight years of interviews by Ann Garceau. Topics will include Indiana lore and geology, the National Road, the Vandalia Railroad, the T.H.I. & E. interurban, iron and concrete bridges, the first high school in the township, the Old Settlers Picnic, numerous businesses, log cabins, elegant homes and the families who lived in them.
