Indiana Bicentennial Celebration 2016

Amber Alert
Amber Alert - TEST

Legacy Projects > Bicentennial Tree Replacement Project Bicentennial Tree Replacement Project

The City of Terre Haute will plant 200 trees in the tree rows or public owned lands to replace trees that have been lost for various reasons such as age, Emerald Ash Borer and disease. This project celebrates the mature canopy that previous generations of community minded citizens planted. It also celebrates our commitment to carry on this legacy by replacing trees so that future generations have the benefits and joy of a healthy tree canopy.

Any resident in Terre Haute can request a tree. Based on availability, the right tree for the right place will be selected and plated by the city at no charge. The resident must first agree to care and water the tree. It is this partnership that makes this project a success. The project will be advertised using the Bicentennial logo and each tree will have a tag that designates it as a Bicentennial tree.
