Legacy Projects > Saving Orleans Historic Fire Truck Saving Orleans Historic Fire Truck

Orleans Bicentennial Project to save the town’s historic original 1926 Peter Pirsch Fire Engine. When completed, the truck will be used to help promote the town’s 200th birthday celebration planned for 2015. Restored fire engine will be used in area parades, special community events and happenings.

The engine was most likely the first-ever new fire truck purchased by Orleans town fathers. The truck was purchased at the original cost of $6,500 from Peter Pirsch & Sons of Wisconsin.
