Indiana Bicentennial Celebration 2016

Legacy Projects > Indiana Arts Quilts – Marie Webster’s Legacy Indiana Arts Quilts – Marie Webster’s Legacy

Marie Webster’s quilts are part of Indiana history. The Indianapolis Museum of Art has many in its collection that are currently on display at IMA through January 2017. In honor of her designs and influence on quilting, Studio Art Quilt Associates created a juried show, “Dialogues, a Contemporary Response to Marie Webster’s Quilts.” This exhibit, consisting of 26 art quilts from eight states, is at the Bret Waller Gallery at the IMA through September 4. An exhibit of only Indiana quilts, “Indiana Art Quilts-Marie Webster’s Legacy,” is planned for September 13 – October 15 in the gallery of Artists’ Own, 518 Main St., Lafayette. Hours are 10-6 Monday-Friday and 10-4 Saturday.
