Parks & Recreation

Yorktown is proud to offer a strong park system with four distinct parks: Morrow’s Meadow, Yorktown Sports Complex, Civic Green, and Lion’s Club Park.

Morrow’s Meadow

Morrow’s Meadow hosts Yorktown’s annual Independence Day event and many other community activities throughout the year, including the Yorktown Farmers Market, Yorktown Public Library summer programming, Reach Yorktown’s Kids in the Meadow, and more.

Pavilion Rentals

Yorktown residents are encouraged to use the pavilion facilities at Morrow’s Meadow and Lion’s Club Park. Pavilions may be reserved for private events for a daily rental fee.

Canoe Launch

A public access canoe launch is available at Morrow’s Meadow during daylight hours. Please follow drop-off and parking restrictions and help care for the park and natural resources. Additional boating information is available through the Indiana DNR.

Civic Green

Located in the heart of downtown, Civic Green is a flexible public space for all ages. Amenities include grassy areas, shade pavilions, fire pits, and a sensory plaza/splash pad with misters and lighting that is a great space for kids on hot summer days.

Civic Green includes a performance structure and regularly hosts community events, including the Free Summer Concert Series hosted by the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce.

Yorktown Sports Complex

The Yorktown Sports Complex includes 20 soccer fields, 5 baseball/softball fields, indoor volleyball courts for Munciana Volleyball, and a 10,000 sq-ft YMCA training facility. The following organizations call the Yorktown Sports Complex home:

  • Munciana Volleyball
  • Delaware County Futbol Club
  • Yorktown High School Athletics
  • Yorktown JAA Baseball and Softball

The Sports Complex reflects a cooperative effort between the Town of Yorktown, Delaware County Commissioners, Yorktown School Corporation, Delaware County YMCA, and partner organizations.

Lion’s Club Park

Lion’s Club Park is located southeast of Downtown Yorktown along the south side of Buck Creek. It is home to the Carl Scott Memorial Disc Golf Course, a 24-hole course recognized as one of the top courses in Indiana.

Additional amenities include a playground, small pavilion, community garden, picnic tables, and benches. Lion’s Club Park is also home to one of Yorktown’s favorite sledding hills. Yorktown residents are encouraged to use the pavilion facilities. Pavilions may be reserved for private events for a daily rental fee.
