The Town Council is responsible for creating local ordinances and resolutions that guide community standards, governance, public safety, land use, and general town operations. These rules ensure that Yorktown remains a safe, orderly, and well-functioning town.
The Town of Yorktown codified ordinances are available to view online covering a wide range of topics that affect daily life and community operations. Examples include:
- Public Safety – regulations on open burning, fireworks, curfews, and animal control.
- Traffic and Parking – speed limits, stop sign locations, parking restrictions, and rules for golf carts or bicycles.
