Bed Up Lasers

This INDOT innovation uses an infrared sensor inside the salt dome to detect when a truck bed is raised. When the sensor beam is broken, a red light above the dome entrance illuminates, alerting drivers and staff that the bed is still up. When the bed is lowered, the beam is restored and the warning light turns off. This simple system helps prevent building damage and improves safety during loading operations.
