Salt Pusher

This INDOT innovation introduces a salt pusher attachment for loaders that makes stacking materials like salt, chips, and stone safer and more efficient. The pusher extends the loader’s reach with a plow‑style end, allowing operators to stack salt higher while keeping the rear tires firmly on the ground.
This added stability reduces strain on equipment and lowers the risk for operators during loading and stacking. By increasing how much material can be stored without relying on the conveyor system, the salt pusher also creates additional capacity for incoming deliveries. This upgrade streamlines yard operations, improves safety, and supports more efficient material management throughout the district.
