Digital Vehicle Inspection Form

INDOT replaced paper vehicle inspection checklists with a digital form built in Microsoft Forms. Crews now complete inspections on iPads using preloaded vehicle information and simple drop‑down selections, which reduces errors and ensures consistent data entry.
Inspection details are shared the same day, including notes on any needed repairs. All data is stored in Excel and connected to the Central Office Fleet SharePoint site.
This digital process eliminates repetitive paper handling, improves accuracy, and provides real‑time insight into fleet condition.
