HDPE Pipe Anchor and Socket

This INDOT innovation improves the stability and performance of corrugated plastic (HDPE) drainage pipes. In some installations, the ends of these pipes can lift or shift out of position, preventing them from maintaining the proper grade. To solve this issue, crews developed an anchor and cable system that holds the pipe securely in place.
The setup uses a screw‑in ground anchor, a cable, and cable clamps to prevent the pipe from rising. These components can be easily sourced through Fastenal, making the system simple to install and maintain.
By keeping HDPE pipe ends firmly positioned, this innovation helps ensure proper drainage performance and long‑term reliability in the field.
