Dump Truck Backup Camera

This INDOT innovation enhances safety for operators and crews by improving visibility around dump trucks. The current fleet is being upfitted with backup cameras and in‑cab monitors that provide clear views behind the truck as well as inside the dump bed. This added visibility helps prevent accidents, supports safer maneuvering, and allows operators to monitor material placement more accurately.
The statewide installation effort is being overseen by Gregory Bright, Statewide Fleet Director. By equipping trucks with modern camera technology, INDOT is taking an important step toward reducing blind spots and creating a safer working environment for all team members.
