Bridge Jack Stands

This INDOT innovation improves safety and efficiency during bridge maintenance work. Bridge jack stands are modular steel tubes that can be stacked and fastened in different combinations to support a bottle jack at the exact height needed to replace bridge shims.
The stands include built‑in handles for easy transportation and positioning. This design eliminates the need to haul and stack heavy, awkward wood cribbing under the bridge. As a result, crews can work more safely, move equipment more easily, and complete shim replacement tasks more efficiently.
