In association with INDOT Des. No. 2002074, this bridge has undergone a thorough alternatives analysis.  The bridge is eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places, and is rated "Select" per the Programmatic Agreement Regarding Management and Preservation of Indiana’s Historic Bridges (Historic Bridge PA). The analysis determined that the rehab in-place alternatives don’t meet the purpose and need regarding INDOT’s long-term goals at this location. The results of the analysis indicate that the bridge is best suited for relocation to a new site for rehabilitation, such as part of a trail network. All of the cultural resources documents associated with INDOT Des. No. 2002074 are available through INDOT’s IN SCOPE website: at http://erms.indot.in.gov/Section106Documents/ (the Des. No. is the most efficient search term, once in IN SCOPE). INDOT is now accepting proposals from responsible parties for the rehabilitation and reuse of the bridge.
