Indiana National Guard Relief Fund

Indiana National Guard Relief Fund Inc. LogoThe Indiana National Guard Relief Fund, Inc., a private, nonprofit, tax exempt corporation, is here to give Indiana soldiers and airmen, and their families, a helping hand in order to meet the challenges that come with extended periods of separation during military deployments.

The Fund provides financial grants to Indiana service members and their families who are encountering difficult situations due to mobilizations or during times of unexpected financial hardships beyond their control.

The Indiana National Guard Relief Fund is not an Army, Air Force or Department of Defense organization.

Indiana Army or Air National Guard Service Members in good standing are eligible to apply.* In order for the Fund to determine whether or not you are eligible for assistance, you must submit a fully completed written application and provide all requested supporting documentation. Please note: this is NOT an emergency relief fund. The approximate processing time for applications is 30 days. If assistance is granted, all checks will be made payable to the creditor/service provider.

If you are unemployed or underemployed and are applying for assistance, you must contact one of the following:

*Eligibility to apply does not guarantee a grant award. Your application packet must prove a financial hardship related to deployment or unexpected event beyond your control.

Fund A

Deployment Hardship Grant $10,000 (max)

Eligibility:

  • Deployment in support of a current conflict
  • Duty Status Title 10 or 32
  • Prove a financial hardship related to deployment
  • Member in good standing

Fund B

National Guard Hardship Grant $1,500 (max)

Eligibility:

  • Any duty status is eligible to apply
  • Prove an unexpected financial hardship beyond their control
  • Member in good standing
  • Clothing
  • Dependent funeral expenses
  • Essential privately-owned vehicle expense
  • Fire or other disasters
  • Food
  • Loss of income
  • Medical, dental and hospital expenses
  • Non-receipt of pay
  • Rent/mortgage
  • Unexpected repairs
  • Utilities
  • Divorce/marriage expenses
  • Ordinary leave
  • Leases or purchases of vehicles
  • Continuing assistance, i.e., same hardship, multiple applications
  • Liquidation or consolidation of debts
  • Goods or items of convenience or luxury
  • Bad checks
  • Business ventures or investments
  • Court fees, fines, judgments, liens, bail, legal fees, income tax or child support
  • Civil suits/bankruptcies
  • Credit cards
  • Student loans/college tuition
