Muscatatuck Training Center goes beyond the requirements of FM 3-06. MuTC was developed in coordination with the state of Indiana as a large urban training site, which:
- Leverages existing masonry buildings
- Supports Camp Atterbury urban training requirements
- Provides a unique and realistic training facility for Army units, Department of Defense (DOD) exercises and law enforcement agencies from all levels of government
As urbanization continues to progress in society, it is generally accepted convention that future conflict is likely to occur within environments containing dense urban terrain. Coupled with the advancements of information technology infrastructure, Muscatatuck Training Center provides a relevant, modern-day urban environment designed to meet the training requirements of Joint All-Domain and Multi-Domain capable formations.

JP 3-06 Joint Urban Operations governs the activities and performance of the Armed Forces of the United States in joint operations and provides the doctrinal basis for interagency coordination and for US military involvement in multinational operations. It provides military guidance for the exercise of authority by combatant commanders and other joint force commanders (JFCs) and prescribes joint doctrine for operations, education, and training. It provides military guidance for use by the Armed Forces in preparing their appropriate plans.
ATP 3-06 Urban Operations, JULY 2022
ATP 3-06/MCTP 12-10B is a dual-designated Army and Marine Corps manual that provides Soldiers/Marines with many of the concepts and techniques associated with conducting urban operations (UO). This publication supersedes ATP 3-06/MCTP 12-10B dated 7 December 2017. The principal audience for ATP 3-06/MCTP 12-10B includes Army/Marine Corps commanders, leaders, unit staffs, and Soldiers/Marines. Commanders and staffs of Army/Marine Corps headquarters serving as a joint task force or multinational headquarters should also refer to applicable joint or multinational doctrine concerning the conduct of joint UO (see JP 3-06). Trainers and educators throughout the Army/Marine Corps will also use this manual. This manual replaces FM 3-06.
ATP 3-06.1 Aviation Urban Operations, February 2022
Purpose 1. This publication provides multi-Service tactics, techniques, and procedures (MTTP) for planning and executing aviation operations in an urban environment. 2. Scope This manual is a tactical-level document for planning and conducting aviation operations in an urban environment. This publication complements established doctrine and provides a single-source reference to assist aviation and ground personnel in planning and executing tactical aviation support to urban operations. It promotes an understanding of the complexities of urban terrain, incorporating lessons learned into MTTP. This publication does not fully address all functions of airpower employment used in urban operations, as these topics are addressed in other appropriate joint and Service publications. 3. Applicability This publication applies to all tactical-level commanders and their staffs that participate in aviation urban operations.
ATTP 3-06.11 Brigade Combat Team Urban Operations, 27 September 2024
ATTP 3-06.11 provides doctrine on combined arms missions, tasks, and activities executed by brigade combat teams, their subordinate and supporting elements, and associated enablers in the urban environment. This publication provides commanders and staffs with the doctrine needed to conduct urban operations. The principal audiences for ATP 3-06.11 are maneuver commanders, staffs, and subordinate leaders responsible for planning, preparing, executing, and assessing operations of brigade combat teams and their subordinate and supporting elements. Trainers and educators throughout the Army will also use this publication.
