Program Overview
This program is designed to familiarize participants with the basic information regarding victim rights legislation, responsibilities of victim advocacy coordinators, types of injuries victims sustain, stages of crisis reaction, psychological first aid for victims, benefits of the victim-centered approach and factors considered under the sentencing guidelines. Participants will learn about crime scene evidentiary considerations, types of evidence, the supplies used to gather evidence, along with victim and suspect evidentiary concerns and recommendations for health care professionals. Attendees will become familiar with the purpose of the SART program, the benefits of the program, and the various roles of each team member.
