Program Overview
This program is designed to assist in the professional management of incarcerated individuals by familiarizing correctional staff with the practices related to deescalation in communicating with a person with mental health needs in a restrictive housing unit. It introduces employees to physical structure constraints while working the restrictive housing unit. The program will introduce employees to proper policy and procedure, as well as educate staff on how to properly complete all required paperwork. In addition to the initial training, staff have to complete an eLearning module annually to maintain their certification current.
