Your Central hub for accessing essential resources and managing administrative tasks efficiently
A Message from Commissioner Lloyd Arnold
Team,
As we head into the summer months, I am excited by the progress we have made since the start of this year.
After months of a hiring freeze, we have posted positions around the state that are bringing in hundreds of applications. At the same time, we are putting the finishing touches on a plan to roll out new, professional uniforms for our staff.
Each day, I am reminded that the Indiana Department of Correction is made up of the finest public servants in our state. You are protectors of public safety, champions of fiscal responsibility, and models of unwavering dedication to our mission.
Your tireless commitment to keeping Hoosiers safe, while finding innovative ways to be good stewards of our resources, is what sets this team apart. Whether it’s managing facilities, supporting programs, or ensuring our custody operations are secure and effective, you show up each day with purpose and pride. Your work does not go unnoticed.
For the past few months, we have been working to “right-size” our budget and staffing levels, and I appreciate your patience during that time. With that necessary work done, we have launched a structured process to hire for custody positions, a first step in a broader plan to ensure our team has the support needed to thrive.
When I started as Commissioner, I talked about going back to the basics and that includes ensuring our staff are seen as correctional professionals representing our great agency. With that goal in mind, we are working on a plan to roll out new uniforms to custody staff, making sure they are properly equipped to do their jobs. We will keep you updated as this project moves ahead.
I am so proud to serve alongside you. Together, we faced challenges head-on and made thoughtful, strategic decisions with one goal in mind: to better serve the people of Indiana, while supporting each other with integrity and determination.
Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your steadfast commitment to excellence. Make sure you continue to take care of yourselves and your teammates.
Lloyd Arnold, Commissioner
