Redkey Community Development, Corp (RCD) was formed with a simple but powerful purpose: to strengthen the Town of Redkey by investing in its people, preserving its history, and supporting projects that improve the quality of life for everyone who calls this community home.
Organized as a nonprofit public-benefit corporation operating under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, RCD exists to serve Redkey through charitable and educational efforts. Our focus is on long-term, sustainable community development—work that brings people together, builds pride, and creates growth opportunities today and for future generations.
Our Mission in Action
Since our formation, Redkey Community Development has been actively working alongside residents, volunteers, local organizations, and community partners to identify needs and turn ideas into action. Our efforts center on several key areas:

- Preserving Redkey’s History
We believe our historic buildings and landmarks tell the story of who we are. RCD has supported projects that protect and highlight these assets, including efforts to preserve the Old Redkey Fire Station and its iconic clock tower—one of the most recognizable symbols of our town’s heritage. - Community Events & Engagement
From seasonal celebrations to fundraising events, we help bring neighbors together through inclusive, family-friendly activities. These events not only raise funds for local projects but also strengthen community connections and civic pride. - Supporting Local Needs
RCD partners with other local groups to help meet immediate needs within the community. This includes supporting food assistance efforts, holiday outreach, and programs that ensure families and individuals feel supported during challenging times. - Beautification & Improvement Projects
A welcoming town matters. Through cleanup efforts, beautification initiatives, and improvement projects, we work to make Redkey a place residents are proud to live in and visitors enjoy experiencing. - Volunteers & Collaboration
Everything we do is powered by people. Volunteers, donors, and community partners play a critical role in making our work possible. We also provide opportunities for residents to get involved through volunteer service, internships, and project-based participation.
How We’re Governed
Redkey Community Development, Corp is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who are committed to the organization’s mission and to serving the best interests of the community. The board oversees operations, finances, and long-term planning to ensure transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of all resources.
