Redkey Street Department: Working Hard to Keep Redkey Moving
The Redkey Street Department, under the leadership of Seth Fugiett, is dedicated to maintaining and improving the town’s infrastructure with pride, precision, and a strong sense of public service. Since stepping into his role, Seth has brought a hands-on approach, a keen eye for detail, and a deep commitment to keeping Redkey running smoothly, no matter the season.
This past winter, Seth led efforts to keep streets safe by plowing snow and salting icy intersections. As spring arrived, his work has been visible throughout the community, replacing and refacing
worn road signs, grading alleyways, laying fresh gravel, patching potholes, and clearing catch basins to help prevent flooding.
Seth has also taken initiative behind the scenes, organizing and upgrading the pole barn facility and playing a key role in Redkey’s transition from aging water meters to modern smart meters—a major step forward for the town’s infrastructure.
From large projects to small, Seth tackles a wide range of tasks with reliability and care, helping ensure Redkey’s streets, alleys, and public spaces are safe, functional, and welcoming.
Thanks to strong leadership and support from the Redkey Town Council, infrastructure improvements continue to move forward. In Fall 2024, the Town Board President secured funding to repave five roads, with seven more scheduled for repaving in Spring 2025. As work progresses, residents are encouraged to watch for temporary road closures while fresh pavement is laid throughout town.
With Seth at the helm and continued investment in Redkey’s streets, the future of our town’s infrastructure is looking stronger than ever.
