Adjutant General’s Office - Military Department of Indiana

Statement from the Adjutant General

Whether during peacetime or times of national emergency, Hoosiers can rest assured that your military is prepared to respond at a moment’s notice. My job as Indiana’s senior military official is to balance our dual state and federal missions and to provide forces that are modernized, fit and ready to be called to action by the governor of Indiana or by the president of the United States. I oversee the thousands of soldiers, airmen, reserve volunteers and civilians who make up the ranks of the Indiana National Guard and the all-volunteer Indiana Guard Reserve. Day and night, across the state of Indiana, our forces are working to maintain readiness and keep you safe. I hope all Hoosiers will support our troops, and if you haven’t served, consider becoming part of our team. Being a Guardsman is about more than having a good job and benefits—it’s a calling to bear faith and allegiance to a cause greater than yourself, and to strive for excellence in all you do.
