Month of the Military Child

Every April the Indiana National Guard joins military organizations across the Department of Defense to celebrate military children. More than 1.6 million military children face challenges and unique experiences as a result of their parents' service.

While Indiana Guardsmen typically serve close to home, some serve far away from their families. These deployments can impact children on many levels as they take on additional responsibilities to assist a parent or caregiver and learn to stay resilient in the face of constant change. Military kids display incredible strength and courage. Our program works to recognize and celebrate the sacrifices these military children make.
