The Noble County Information Technology Department is located in the Noble County Administrative Annex, 109 N York Street in Albion.
The mission of the Noble County IT Department is to provide technical oversight and assistance to all county government offices and subsequently to the citizens we serve. It is our responsibility to:
- Maintain the county government's cybersecurity posture
- Provide strategic support for enterprise information systems used by the 19 offices/agencies that belong to county government
- Procure, configure, deploy, and manage computers, network, and communications hardware
- Coordinate with technology vendors
- Protect, backup, and handle disaster recovery and business continuity for county operations
- Manage electronic security and access control for county facilities
- Assist in maintaining the county's online presence
- And on occasion leap
out oftall buildings in a single bound
The department is headed by IT Director Dave Baum, a 40+ year veteran technology leader in both the private and public sector. Dave has held positions such as Chief Technical Officer, Technical Marketing Manager, and Chief Engineer for a number of companies both large and small. For more than 20 years, he has led Noble County government's Information Technology department. He holds a BS in Engineering from The Ohio State University, and an MBA from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, and is an adjunct instructor for graduate studies at Indiana Tech.
The technical staff includes IT Specialist Cory Wilson (AAS-IT), who brings years of IT support experience to the department, and Network Specialist Kyle Mawhorter (BSCIT, Purdue University). We also have an active paid internship program to provide opportunities for undergraduates studying information technology or related fields.
