Convention & Visitors Commission

Purpose

A five (5) member convention and visitor commission (CVC) whose purpose is to promote the development and growth of the convention and visitor industry in the county.

Commission Members

The County Council shall appoint three (3) members of the commission. Two (2) members must be owners or general manager of a hotel or motel having at least forty (40) beds that is located in the county.

The County Commissioners shall appoint two (2) members of the commission. One (1) member must be an owner  or general managers of a hotel or motel having at least forty (40) beds that is located in the county. One (1) member must be the director or associate director of the Indiana University Memorial Union.

Commission Application

Term

• All terms of office begin on January 1 and end on December 31.
• The County Council appointments serve two (2) year terms.
• The County Commissioners appointments serve one (1) year terms.
