The purpose of the noise barriers is to mitigate impacts to adjacent properties resulting from the additional travel lane that is included in the project.  The decision to install noise barriers is made following a study of the existing and anticipated noise levels that is then subjected to “reasonable and feasible” analysis.  Complete noise study information can be found in the Environmental Documents found on the main project page under "Related Links".  Specifically they can be found as follows:

  • Cumberland Crossing/Cumberland Woods (East of Cumberland Road)

  • Brooks Chase Noise Barrier (East of Brooks School Road)

  • Roselake Noise Barrier (East of State Road 13)

  • Whispering Woods Noise Barrier (North of 126th Street)
