Trick-or-Treating

Clermont trick-or-treating hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. on October 31. Residents are encouraged to participate. Those passing out candy to trick-or-treaters should keep their outdoor/front porch lights on for goblins and other guests. Parents should keep a close eye on their children and ensure they are safe. Drivers should drive slowly and be extremely cautious to ensure it's a safe, fun night for everyone.

Halloween Contest

Clermont will offer prizes to town residents for the best overall Halloween display, to foster more community pride and spirit. Gift card prizes of $100, $50, and $25 will go to the best-decorated properties within town limits. Clermont officials will be the judges and look for originality, kid-friendliness, festiveness, and creativity (please keep decorations in good taste). Judging will take place the week of Halloween. Contact clerk@clermont.in.gov if you have any questions.

Leaf Collection

The county's leaf collection program begins November 9 and ends December 4. During this time, you can dispose of 40 bags of leaves each week with your regular trash. On trash day (Monday), place the bags by the street by 7 a.m. Keep the leaf bags 3-5 feet away from your cart collection area. Keep them off the sidewalk and not on the road. Learn more at indy.gov.

As an alternate, consider mulching the leaves with your lawnmower to provide nutrients to help your grass and other plant life. Leaves are a good alternative to wood mulch.

It is illegal to burn leaves because of the harmful particles it releases into the air. Fines may go up to $2,500.
