Tree Dedications

Neighbors and Tree Allies volunteers celebrated Arbor Day 2026 in Clermont by planting three flowering crabapple trees and a bur oak at the Clermont Cemetery, and now the public can make nominations to dedicate some of these new trees to residents who have made a significant impact on the town.

The old adage "trees make the neighborhood" still holds, and similar to how "it takes a village to raise a child," it takes selfless, caring residents to make that village. To honor individuals who have gone above and beyond to make Clermont a better place, the Tree Allies will dedicate the three new pink-flowering crabapple trees at the cemetery entrance to those residents. The Allies will place small nameplate signs by the trees to recognize the community members nominated by local residents.

To nominate a town resident (think unsung hero, neighborhood helper, or other volunteer) for a tree named in their honor, stop by town hall, leave a message at 317-291-0394, or email treeallies@clermont.in.gov.

Thank you to all who use their precious time to better our town and their neighborhood!

About the Tree Allies

The Clermont Tree Allies are an official committee of the town made up of local volunteers that advocate for and actively pursue improvements to the town's tree canopy. As the town's tree board, under the authority of the Clermont Town Council, the Allies meet several times a year to plan for and report on projects or initiatives. The meetings are held at the Clermont Town Hall and are open to the public. Check the town's online calendar for meeting dates, or reach out to the Allies at treeallies@clermont.in.gov.
