The Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC), Lake County, Porter County, and La Porte County are working together to develop a Regional Safety Action Plan for Northwest Indiana.
The plan will identify ways to reduce roadway fatalities and serious injuries for everyone who travels in the region—including people who drive, walk, bicycle, use transit, or rely on mobility devices. The plan will combine safety data, local knowledge, public input, and proven strategies to help communities make informed safety improvements.
Your experience can help identify safety concerns that may not be fully reflected in crash records, including near-misses, uncomfortable crossings, excessive speeds, missing connections, poor visibility, and other roadway conditions.
