Does your community have a natural resource project idea? We can help you get grant ready!
A team of partners is available to assist municipalities and NGOs in developing sound grant proposals for projects that improve natural resources and resiliency in Northwest Indiana (Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties).
The Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC) and Save the Dunes have staff with grant expertise available to help develop project ideas, review drafts, support mapping, build new partnership connections, and more. These organizations have varied and extensive expertise in natural resource management, resiliency planning, spatial analysis/mapping, and grant writing.
Eligible project types include:
- Restoration of natural areas, such as wetlands, prairies, or forests
- Projects to increase shoreline resiliency
- Public access creation or improvement
- Land acquisition for conservation
- Green stormwater infrastructure
- Natural or cultural resource-related placemaking or community beautification
- Planning in support of conservation and resiliency
