Spring 2019 IHCP Provider Workshops

The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) is offering 10 one-day educational workshops at various locations from February 19 through March 28, 2019. All workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.


Session Descriptions

When registering to attend the workshop, providers must sign up for each session they would like to attend. Session descriptions are listed below. All associated presentations will be posted at the bottom of this web page.

  • DXC Technology – Tips and Reminders (9 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.)  
    This session will cover the new 180-day timely filing limit rules, including exclusions and extenuating circumstances to waive or extend the timely filing limit. Guidelines on charging members and changes to the Presumptive Eligibility (PE) process will also be reviewed.

     
  • Southeastrans – FFS Nonemergency Medical Transportation Broker (9:45 a.m. 10:30 a.m.) 
    Southeastrans 
    (the fee-for-service [FFS] nonemergency medical transportation broker) will review their portal, including the Facility, Member, and Provider panels. An overview of call center procedures as well as provider expectations will be discussed. Q&As regarding the most recent emergency medical services (EMS) changes will be provided.
     
  • Conduent – FSSA EnCred (10:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.) 
    This presentation will provide information related to the implementation of the Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) EnCred system and will include an overview of functionality, current status, timelines, and benefits of the new solution. A demonstration of several of the enrollment and credentialing functions will be performed.   

     
  • MDwise – 2019 MDwise Updates (12:30 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.)
    This session will provide an in-depth review of the changes coming to MDwise providers in 2019, including new claim submission information, updated prior authorization (PA) guidelines, a new transportation vendor, and a new process for requesting claim adjustments.

     
  • Hoosier Care Connect Hospice Changes (1:15 p.m. – 2 p.m.) 
    Anthem and MHS will provide a high-level overview of hospice requirements and billing guidance for managed care entity (MCE) notifications and obtaining prior authorization.

     
  • Podiatry Services (2:15 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.)
    This session will offer an overview of IHCP podiatry benefits, benefit limitations, and billing guidelines. (CareSource engagement specialists will present, but the content is not CareSource-specific.)

     
  • Community Health Workers (2:30 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.)
    Discussion will include the coverage of community health workers and how they can benefit our underserved communities. (MDwise representatives will give the presentation, but the content is not MDwise-specific.)

     
  • SUD Residential Treatment (2:45 p.m. – 3 p.m.)
    This session will offer a general overview of IHCP substance use disorder (SUD) residential treatment services, including enrollment and billing guidelines. (MHS representatives will present, but the content is not MHS-specific.)

     
  • ABA Changes (3 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.)
    This overview will describe the applied behavior analysis (ABA) codes released in the 2019 Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) update and the billing guidance related to the new codes. (Anthem representatives will present, but the content is not Anthem-specific.) 

     
  • Roundtable Discussion with MCEs (3:15 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.)
    This session will be an open forum for providers to ask questions and discuss issues with managed care entities.

When you register online, you will receive immediate confirmation. Be sure to register early, as workshops fill up quickly. If for some reason you are unable to register or do not receive a confirmation, please feel free to attend, regardless. Registration is strongly encouraged, but walk-ins will be allowed if space is available.
