Porter County Health Department does not require water sampling for drinking water wells. However, to detect contamination problems early, the US EPA recommends that you test private water supplies annually for at least:
- Nitrates
- Coliform bacteria
- Total dissolved solids
- pH levels
Test more frequently if a problem was found in earlier tests.
