Responsibilities

The Porter County Health Department's Public Health Emergency Response and Preparedness Section is responsible for the county's Public Health Emergency Response and Preparedness Program which includes:

  • Collaborating with federal, state, regional, and local agencies to ensure a coordinated response to an emergent public health event
  • Developing, assessing, and evaluating public health emergency response plans
  • Developing plans to receive and manage the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) (formally known as the National Pharmaceutical Stockpile)
