Environmental Health Division Service Hours
The Porter County Health Department, in its efforts to best meet our clients' needs, and to better serve our community, has implemented hours of service for the Environmental Division.
Hours of service for walk-ins (including septic releases for building permits) will be available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM ONLY. After 10:00 AM, anyone requiring a meeting with our environmental staff will need to contact the Environmental Division by email at environmental.health@portercountyin.gov or by calling (219) 465-3525 and selecting a representative by name to schedule an appointment. To request a septic release for a building permit, or to submit plan reviews and soil reports, please send information via email to environmental.health@portercountyin.gov.
Outside of those hours, inspectors may be conducting field work and may not be readily available. The primary job of the inspectors is conducting site inspections in the field, hence the need to schedule appointments. To submit plans, plans with revisions, applications, and/or registrations, please submit them via email if possible. Otherwise, please speak with the front desk staff who will be happy to get your information to the appropriate inspector. It is recommended that you include your contact information and any special instructions you would like to be addressed.
We anticipate that these service hours will simplify serving you expeditiously, as serving your needs is our top priority.
