Changes In Hours Of Service For Environmental Health Division

The Porter County Health Department, in its efforts to meet our client’s needs, and to better serve our community, is implementing hours of service for the Environmental Division.

Commencing on Monday, March 16, 2020, “walk-ins services” will be available Monday through Friday, and ONLY between the hours of 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. After 10:00 AM, anyone requiring a meeting with our environmental staff will need to contact the Environmental Division by email at Ehealth@porterco.org or by calling (219) 465-3525 and selecting a representative by name, to either schedule an appointment or to see if an inspector will be available to meet with them. To submit plan reviews and soil reports, email them to Ehealth@porterco.org.

The primary job of the inspectors is to be in the field conducting site inspections, hence the need to implement the scheduling of appointments. IF you are dropping off plans, plans with revisions, applications, and/or registrations, please sign in at the front desk, where your submittals will be received. It is also recommended that you include any special instructions you want to be addressed.

We anticipate that the change will simplify serving you expeditiously, as serving your needs is our top priority.
