Statewide Tornado Drill on March 19

Please be aware that on Tuesday, March 19, at 10:15 A.M. EDT, the National Weather Service, in conjunction with the Indiana State Police and Public Safety Commission, Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Department of Education, the Indiana Broadcaster’s Association, the Red Cross, and Amateur Radio Operators will conduct a statewide test of communication systems.  If weather postpones the tests, a make-up test is Wednesday, March 20, at the same time listed.

FSSA staff in the Indiana Government Center and local offices should be advised that while FSSA is not participating in these drills, we are asking that employees be aware of the upcoming test. Employees may hear the Klaxon sirens in their respective areas sounding but no action will be required. If a tornado watch/warning is issued during this time frame, communications will be sent out to alert staff to follow their severe weather procedures.
