Know the O Facts Treatment Video
The Know the O Facts campaign has released a new opioid use disorder outreach video available that discusses treatment, called “There is Treatment.”
It is very important to know that learning to live without opioids is possible with treatment, understanding, help and support. Opioids have a hold on people, who become dependent on them and for those with an opioid use disorder, treatment is not an easy or quick cure. It takes time. By listening to those who know and have experienced an opioid use disorder, we can understand better what it takes to get better. Treatment can be outpatient, inpatient and medication-assisted treatment, also known as M-A-T.
Knowing there are treatment resources available can help save a life or lives. It begins with understanding. Remember, opioid use disorder is a disease. There is treatment and from that, recovery is possible. Empathy also changes how we think and what we say. With that we can help reduce the barriers to seeking treatment for the disease. Our actions and words do make a difference.
